Wine Week 173: We’re game if you are.

May 21st, 2010

Being in the game a long time gives you great experience. The folks at Blue Pyrenees know this, and with their recent players they have really looked to the future by honouring the past. Their 2006 Shiraz has been picking up trophies and medals with its home-ground style. The Annie’s Lane Riesling from 2009 is a wine that you know will be thereabouts every year. It’s a proven performer that’s got a big following of fans.

As our long time followers will know, Danny and Brad are big Essendon fans. And to round things out this week they look at a red blend from Mitchelton that honours Dustin Fletcher as he plays his 321st game this weekend.

This week’s recommendations are:

  • Blue Pyrenees Shiraz 2006 ($16-$18)
  • Annie’s Lane Riesling 2009 ($15-$17)
  • Mitchelton Fletcher 321 (Shiraz Merlot 2009) ($50 per 6)
