Wine Week 210: Well deserved medals.

February 25th, 2011

Sometimes when you visit the bottle shop it feels like they must be handing out medals to wines just for turning up. This week we start by looking at the Margaret Semillon from Peter Lehmann, a wine that picked up a prize for best in show that you can trust!

We also check up on the latest vintages of the Penley Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon and the Stonier Pinot Noir.

This week’s recommendations are:

  • Peter Lehmann Margaret Barossa Semillon ($32-$35)
  • Stonier Pinot Noir 2009 ($23-$28)
  • Penley Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 ($19-25)

Wine Week: Special Best Dozen offer!

February 22nd, 2011

Over the past few years we have received many emails and tweets asking – where can we buy these wines? Or even better – can you provide us a direct link to purchase the wines straight away?

We’re happy to announce that today we have teamed up with the guys at Boccaccio cellars to offer the first in a series of wine packs based on the wines we have selected on Wine Week.

Wine Week Best Dozen Selection

The selection from our Best Dozen of 2010 are:

  • De Bortoli Rococo Blanc de Blancs NV
  • Andrew Thomas Wines Braemore Semillon 2010
  • The Story Grampians Shiraz 2008
  • Yalumba The Cigar Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
  • Toolangi Chardonnay 2008
  • Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache 2009

The pack is offered at the great value price of $130 (plus shipping)

Due to the fact that Boccaccio doesn’t stock every wine that we review, so it’s not possible to offer a link to purchase every wine from every episode. But we are planning to bring you a series of different packs during the year based on the selections that can be offered.

We hope that some of you find this a convenient way of purchasing the wines that we have recommended on Wine Week, and most importantly – enjoy the wines when they are delivered to your door!

Wine Week 209: Back to business.

This week’s recommendations are:

  • Bests Bin 0 Shiraz 2008 ($62-$65)
  • Freycinet Louis Pinot Noir 2009 ($25-$28)
  • Sorrenberg Chardonnay 2008 ($45-50)
