Wine Week 198: There’s just one problem…

November 12th, 2010

Some wines disappoint us because they aren’t up to scratch. However Danny is disappointed with our first wine this week for entirely different reason. He’s such a fan of the Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling that he can’t keep the bottles long enough without drinking them! What a problem to have!

To overcome his disappointment we also look at a great everday wine from mighty Barossa producers Torbreck. The Juveniles might have been originally made for a Parisian wine bar, but it’s just at home with Friday night Pizzas.

Lastly we check in with Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards – a winery who we haven’t looked at in a while – and realise we’ve been missing out by not ripping into the bold and stylish HJ Reserve Shiraz.

This week’s recommendations are:

  • Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling 2010 ($25-$33)
  • Torbreck Cuvée Juveniles 2009 ($25-$28)
  • Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards HJ Reserve Shiraz 2006 ($48-53)

Cheers… and happy wine buying!
