Wine Week 141: The wine is not just a prop!

September 25th, 2009

This week we show that we do actually drink these wines by opening up a lovely riesling from the Clare Valley that took our fancy from the Barry boys. We follow that up with two fantastic bottles of shiraz from the Barossa Valley – from two winemakers in great form who continue the proud tradition of great Aussie shiraz.

This week’s recommendations are:

  • clos Clare Watervale Riesling 2009 ($22-25)
  • Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz 2007 ($25-30)
  • Pirathon by Kalleske Shiraz 2008 ($22-$26)

    Brad and Danny,

Thanks for taking my suggestion from Week 100 (no doubt following similar suggestions as well) and actually popping and pouring one of the ‘prop’ bottles. This is Gary V’s go of course, but look how successful he is! (Big shout out to all those Vayniacs).

Australia does need it own Wine Library TV – with a home grown twist.

BTW, do you ever review crap bottles – just to let us know what not to buy as well as what to buy.

    Cheers
