WineWeek 116: Matching fast food and wine.
Fast food, junk food, takeaway – no matter what you call it we’ve all been there. But just because fast food is an easy alternative to cooking doesn’t mean you can’t match it with wine to turn junk food into meal that’s a bit more grown up. This week we look at three wines that will go perfectly with pizza, a burger or fish and chips. A McLaren Vale sangiovese goes well with the Pizza, while a big bold shiraz from Rutherglen hits the spot with a burger. To finish things off we check out a riesling to go with the classic fish and chips!
Join the Wine Week footy tipping competition! If you haven’t joined up yet you’ll get 5 for round 1! (Entry is free!)
This week’s recommendations are:
- Coriole sangiovese 2007 ($15-20)
- Campbells Bobbie Burns shiraz 2006 ($16-19)
- Pikes Traditionale riesling 2008 ($15-21)

I like it guys, nothing wrong with the occasional pizza or burger, especially if you match it with the right drop – cheers!
