Wine Week 119: Three ripper bargains under $13.

April 24th, 2009

Times are tough. Everyone is tightening their belts. So the big question is what wines can you grab this weekend that will be great drops, but not break the budget? We look at three great wines, with each just a touch over the ten dollar mark. The first is a red blend that’s very approachable despite its youthfulness. The second is a Semillion with five years bottle age that’s still a super bargain. The last is a Hunter shiraz from a producer making a real name for themselves.

  • Water Wheel Memsie 2007 ($12-13)
  • Mount Pleasant Elizabeth semillon 2004 ($11-13)
  • Meerea Park shiraz 2006 ($11-13)
