Wine Week 108: Third time (still) lucky.

February 6th, 2009

This week we kick off with an Eden Valley riesling which we’ve looked at for the last three vintages. And no wonder given the bargain price and brilliant quality. We also check out a relatively new winery from the Heathcote region turning out a top little shiraz. And to round things out we look at a shiraz which has been described as reminiscent of Grange, but at a tenth of the price!

This week’s recommendations are:

  • Pewsey Vale Eden Valley riesling 2008 ($13-15)
  • Tar & Roses Heathcote shiraz 2007 ($16-18)
  • Oliver’s Taranga HJ shiraz 2005 ($45-48)

Cheers… and happy wine buying!
