Hi Dennis,
Matching food and wine can raise a few curly ones from time to time. We've certainly never felt the Footbolt was unsuited to a nice juicy steak, but that's not to say the cut and method of cooking can't make a big difference. For a big, bold shiraz like this we normally try to match it with a porterhouse or rump steak. But in all things, there are no rules that you can't break - and if you enjoy this wine more as a dessert tipple then go for it. :)

Brad & Danny, a bit off-topic , but I need some help; I recently tried the d’Arenberg 2008 McLaren vale The Foot Bolt Shiraz and found that it did not pair well with a big Rib-eye steak; it seemed as though this Shiraz was so rich that it was best as a dessert wine: do you have any thoughts on this.
Sincerely,
Dennis
