Wine Week 58: A bottle aged trophy winner for under $15!
It’s a wine that’s widely regarded as one of Australia’s best semillons and has more than half a decade of bottle age already, but it costs less than $15. We also check out a brilliant Barossa shiraz with great cellaring potential and a red blend from the biggest name in Aussie reds that comes in so cheap you’ll never need buy bulk wine again.
In this episode we recommend:
- Grant Burge Filsell shiraz 2005 ($25-30)
- Penfolds Rawson’s Retreat shiraz cabernet 2007 ($6-10)
- Mount Pleasant Elizabeth semillon 2002 ($13-15)

Hi Brad & Danny
Congratulations on a consistently great weekly show. From the bargain quaffers to the low priced cellarers, you’re my tour guide through Mr Murphys aisles!!! I’ll be needing some good wines this year to toast the Mighty Hawks in ’08.
Cheers

Hi Guys, whats with the burgundy bowls for your big Shiraz? It looks like nice stemware, but not the best for those wines.
Cheers

Hi Jason, we probably need to invest in some more glasses… Both Brad & I have decent collections at home (and Brad more-so after his recent Wedding) but neither of us transport our best glasses to and fro for the weekly show.
Maybe we need to get a glass suplier on board to make sure we’re always using the best match of glasses!
Cheers, Danny
