Wine Week 45: Great aged wines from a failed investment scheme.
A few years back some cashed up people decided that they could get rich by getting together and buying up a heap of great Australian wine. The scheme went bust and now the huge holdings are being released to you and I via an online auction, so this week we check out four wines worth bidding on. There’s a couple of well know shiraz bottles with up to 7 years age on them already, plus a less well known cabernet that is a stand out from the range on offer. Be sure to check out graysonline.com.au for bidding details.
In this episode we recommend:
- Kilikanoon Covenant shiraz 2002 ($9-35+)
- Mount Langi Ghiran Langi shiraz 2000 ($9-40+)
- Wirra Wirra McLaren Vale shiraz 2002 ($9-30+)
- Gartner Family Vineyards cabernet sauvignon 1999 ($9-35+)
