Wine Week 8: Did somebody say pinot?
It’s been a long time coming, but we finally review a pinot noir in this week’s edition of Wine Week, and a damn good value one at that. We also look at one of Australia’s best examples of the fashionable shiraz viogner blend, and an easy drinking white wine that is perfect for those summer picnics.
In this episode we recommend:
- Evans & Tate Margaret River Classic 2006 ($12-16)
- D’Arenberg Laughing Magpie Shiraz Viogner 2005 ($28-34)
- De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate Pinot Noir 2005 ($22-26)

Hi Danny and Brad,
Thanks for the hints, tips and suggestions. Please may I make a request ? A friend of mine is getting married soon, and thus I am looking for wedding gifts. I was wondering if you guys could make some suggestions in future episodes about good wines to buy now, that will be excellent later after 5, 10, 20 + years in the cellar ? Thanks, Friend of the Groom.

Hey guys,
Great website, love your reviews. The Laughing Magpie has made our top 5 list of favourite wines (my wifes favourite). I’ve got some 2002 on the way which we’re looking forward to.
I’d like to hear your opinion on any Kilikanon wines (my favourite), especially their Blocks Road Cab Sav.
Cheers
Pablo
