Wine Week 7: What a mouthful!
This week we have a look at a great riesling that can be had for around $10, plus a big red blend that is a perfect mouthful both when drinking and when reading the label. We also look at a premium quality McLaren Vale shiraz that doesn’t require approval from your bank manager before purchase.
In this episode we recommend:
- Peter Lehmann Barossa Riesling 2006 ($10-14)
- Thorn Clarke Shotfire Ridge Quartage 2004 ($18-25)
- Wolf Blass Grey Label McLaren Vale Shiraz 2004 ($28-38)

Good to see you guys concentrating on mostly affordable, mostly Australian wines.
Haven’t tried the PL riesling but have had quite a number of bottles of the semillon. I had some Quartage recently and it was good but I wasn’t as impressed with it as I have been in the past. But the Blass Grey 04 is a cracker at the $20 I got it for from The Wine Society late last year. $40? Hmm, goodish value.
